Purina Cat Chow Commercial 1970s Purina traces a roots behind to 1894, when owner William H. Danforth began producing feed for assorted plantation animals underneath a name Purina Mills. Later, in 1902, he joined with illness guru as well as idealist Webster Edgerly, owner of Ralstonism, who was during a time producing breakfast cereals, to form a “Ralston-Purina Company”.
